Suggested uses
When classes have enough devices so that all students can use Math Ascension during the week, it is entirely possible, and planned, to set up group work. Once the installation phase is completed (see above: In Class - On the day of the activity ➚), experience has shown that students are completely autonomous during their use of Math Ascension.
Recommended session duration: 20-30 minutes depending on age.
If there are not enough devices, it is first necessary for each student to create their account in class (see above: In Class - On the day of the activity ➚). Once this is done, you can simply pass the student keys to parents so that Math Ascension can be used at home instead (which is actually the intended use of this tool).
We have prepared an email ready to send directly accessible in the dashboard for this purpose (see above: After the activity ➚).
For students who struggle more with math, we recommend offering them regular sessions in class and helping them track their progress using the multiplication table mastery gauges displayed in the game. Feel free to ask them to call you at the end of a game to review their mistakes and progress together.
Also, offering them the use of Math Ascension at home will have even more impact once they have recognized its relevance and effects. It has happened that these students become ambassadors to their parents for using this tool at home.
To further enhance learning, we have implemented a system of daily quests. These quests aim to encourage students to select more complex calculations and add challenges during their ascents. Just like the general functioning of the game, the quests increase in complexity based on the students' learning. Therefore, when possible, we recommend encouraging students to solve these quests.
Note: The quests are available as long as a first ascension has been completed, and not before. If your students do not have enough time to complete the quest of the day in class, its progress can be continued at home, provided that the device in class is connected to the internet (and therefore the progress has been saved online).
